The need for effective financial turnaround skills has arguably never been greater in the charity sector. The prevailing narrative, backed by increasing amounts of research, is that large numbers of charities face an existential threat. Many organisations assess the need for their services as unsustainable, and many may have to make unpalatable choices just to keep operating.
Those tough choices, by their nature, will have a disproportionate impact on some of the most vulnerable people in our society. Effective financial turnaround can therefore make a huge positive difference in driving social change. In this webinar, we’ll be inviting attendees to share opinions and experiences on what makes a good turnaround leader.
Our opening speaker will be Simon Hopkins, who is a freelance charity turnaround specialist, and has been a charity CFO, COO and CEO since moving into the sector in 2010. Simon recently presented at CFG’s annual conference on turnaround in general, will be offering food for thought on the specific subject of the skills needed to lead in this area.
